Have you been thinking about some New Year’s Resolutions? I think that’s a great way to prepare for the start of another year, and they help to remind us of the things that are most important to us. I really want to make the most of next year, so here’s my list of top priorities for 2018.
A Healthy Lifestyle
Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is right at the top of my list, and in 2018 I want to ensure that my weight remains at sixty kilograms. If I’ve gained a kilo or two over the Christmas season, then I’ll be trying to lose that in January.
Exercise is now an essential part of my daily routine. My goal will be to have a long walk and do some other exercises every day.
If you’re interested in losing some weight, you can check out my new book: The One Way Diet. It’s about how to reach your goal weight and cope with every aspect of a weight loss journey – and it’s based on my personal experience.
Enjoying life
In 2017, I devoted too much time to writing and didn’t spend enough time relaxing, enjoying myself and catching up with friends. In 2018, I want to focus on keeping my life in balance so that there’s time for everything that important to me – including having fun.
Travel
There’s no doubt about it, I love travelling and hope to have the chance to see some more of the world in 2018. I’ve booked a cruise for later in the year, but also hope to do a smaller trip in the next few months.
Last October, I started an Instagram account to share some of my travel photos. At first I was posting every day but soon realised that was taking up too much of my time. I now post twice a week and hope to continue that throughout 2018. It’s been fun to make new online friends there and see their images from around the world.

Time with friends and family
I have a daughter in Melbourne and a son and little granddaughter in Brisbane, so that means travelling in order to spend some time with them. I’ll be paying visits to both cities several times in 2018, but my dream is to have my entire family together for a few days.
I also want to make time throughout the year to catch up with friends and members of my extended family.
Writing
I hope to release the fourth book in The Jotham Fletcher Mystery Thriller Series in late January or early February 2018. For rest of the year, I’ll be working steadily on the fifth book in the series. I also want to spread the word about my book on weight loss, The One Way Diet, and will be planning a sequel about maintaining a healthy weight.
I hope you enjoy thinking about your own New Year’s Resolutions and have a wonderful time seeing in the New Year. Please accept my best wishes for a healthy, happy and prosperous 2018, and I’d love to hear about your plans for next year.

I enjoyed reading your New Years resolutions. While I usually do not make resolutions I do find the end of the year a great time to reflect & the new year a great time to refocus. Perhaps that is exactly the same as New Year resolutions. Anyway I too realise I am spending too much time on Instagram & your suggestion of posting twice a week is one I will consider. Best wishes Toni for 2018.

Hi Estelle, Many thanks for dropping by. I agree, the end of they year is a great time to reflect on what lies ahead. I really enjoy your Instagram posts, but it can certainly be very time consuming. I’ve already cut back, as you know, and will see how I go in January. Wishing you a very happy New Year.
