As the year comes to an end, I’ve started to think about my plans for 2019. Do you like to make New Year resolutions? Many people don’t like that term because those noble intentions are so often forgotten or abandoned after a few weeks. But I like to set some definite goals to work towards over the next twelve months.
It’s summer in Australia, and the period between Christmas and New Year here often coincides with summer vacations or a restful period at home. That gives us Aussies the perfect opportunity to think about the year ahead.
Here are my plans for 2019.
Writing Goals
I have two main writing goals in 2019. I’ve started a new standalone thriller which I hope to release in a few months time. It’s based on the draft of a screenplay I wrote quite a few years ago, and recently I pulled it out from the back of a drawer and had a fresh look at it. After that is published, I’ll decide whether to rework another old story of mine or write the fifth book in the Jotham Fletcher series.
Personal Goals
One of my main personal goals will be to try to catch up with more friends on a regular basis. I also want to visit Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne through the year to spend time with various family members. I’d also like to spend more time visiting museums and going to the theatre.
I intend to pay particular attention to maintaining my exercise routine and also lose at least two or three kilograms. To do that, I’ll be following my own recommendations in The One Way Diet. I’ll write about how I go with that on my blog in a few months time.
Travel
I love to travel, and I’ve already decided to visit northern France, Germany and the UK in 2019. While planning for that trip, I’ll be following my own advice in Happy Travels 101. There are also a few special occasions that are already in my diary for 2019, including a family wedding, a friend’s birthday party and visits from a few friends and relatives .

Wishing you a Happy New Year
Finally, I want to wish you all a very safe, happy, healthy and prosperous New Year. Thank you so much for all the support you’ve given me throughout 2018. You can find out more about all my books HERE, including Dead Dry Heart and The Jotham Fletcher Mystery Thriller Series.
I’d love to hear about your goals for 2019 and your thoughts on New Year resolutions.
